If convicted of his current charges, Mauck could be given two life prison terms plus 43 years and fined $203,500, court records show.

In his latest case, Mauck was arrested on an outstanding warrant by Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Dan Nack on July 21 in Hidden Canyon in Stillwater where he was staying at a woman’s residence, court records show.

“I am aware that the incident leading to his arrest warrant involved a firearm,” Nack wrote in his affidavit filed last week.

“Arriving at this location, Deputy Edwards and myself went to the front door, while two deputies went to the back.

“Upon knocking, I was greeted by a teenage girl who slammed the door and locked the deadbolt upon seeing us.

“A second teenage girl then came to the door, opening it, and then slamming and locking it,” the deputy alleged.

A few minutes later, a woman came to door and was advised that the deputy needed to speak to Mauck, the affidavit said.

“She hesitated a few moments looking around in the house, then said to hold on.

“I interrupted her stating that I had information that he was here and told her of the deputies at the back door.

“Cody has a history with running. She shut the door, returning a few moments later. She stated he was within the home getting ready.

“I advised her that for safety reasons with the kids and his history, with him not coming to the door, I was coming inside,” Nack wrote in his affidavit.

“Myself and Edwards entered the house, locating Cody in the back master bedroom. While taking Cody into custody, an additional male came out of the back bedroom and kept grabbing his shorts,” Nack alleged in his affidavit.

That man, identified as 18-year-old Troy Wayne Shadowen Jr. of Stillwater, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, court records show. Shadowen remains free on $5,000 bail pending an Aug. 28 court appearance with an attorney.

After Mauck and Shadowen were arrested, the deputy spoke to the woman who consented to a search of the room, the affidavit alleged.

“She further indicated that Cody (Mauck) had been staying with her for about a week and had been bringing in boxes of property,” the affidavit alleged.

In the bedroom, the deputy found a case containing a large caliber rifle, and also “in the corner, standing up was one black Mossberg shotgun, 20 gauge, loaded with a tactical stock,” the affidavit alleged. “The barrel was sawed off and later measured to be 16 inches,” the affidavit alleged.

The woman claimed to own one small derringer in the night stand, where it was located, along with a Ruger bearcat .22 and an RG brand .22, the affidavit alleged.

“By the nightstand on the bed was one working police scanner, which was constantly picking up Stillwater police radio traffic,” the affidavit alleged.

In the master bathroom, the deputy found a glass methamphetamine pipe with burnt residue, a box containing digital scales with crystal residue, three packs of syringes, two packs of new small baggies, five measuring scoops with heavy residue on several, five loose syringes, a small funnel, a container with three pills identified as Tramadol, and a red straw, the affidavit alleged.

“In the floor of the bathroom was one tied sandwich baggy with four pills,” identified as hydrocodone, the affidavit alleged.
