(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stillwater man accused of sexually battering his girlfriend’s female friend has been released from the Payne County Jail on $40,000 bail with an order to have no contact with his alleged victim.
Joshua Todd Gentry, 35, has been ordered to appear in court on Aug. 27 on the felony charge for which he could be given a 10-year prison term if convicted.
Gentry was arrested at 11:09 p.m. on July 26 at his apartment, Stillwater Police Sgt. Paul Priegel wrote in an affidavit.
Thirteen minutes earlier, a dispatcher received a frantic phone call from Gentry’s girlfriend that he was out of control, the affidavit alleged.
The alleged victim “could be heard screaming for help as she was being attacked by Joshua in the background,” the affidavit alleged.
“The three of them had all been drinking together and all three were intoxicated,” the alleged victim told police, the affidavit said.
The women, who were in their underwear, had been talking about “possibly experimenting sexually with each other,” the affidavit alleged.
The alleged victim grew uncomfortable “with where things were heading” between Gentry’s girlfriend and herself, the affidavit alleged.
When she went to get dressed, Gentry came out of the bedroom totally naked and attacked her in an effort to rape her, the affidavit alleged.
“Joshua repeatedly kicked, punched and pushed,” against the woman, who told police she was punched repeatedly in the right side of her head and her hair was violently pulled out, the affidavit alleged.
The alleged victim said she “was able to eventually hurt him by impacting him in his genitalia,” the affidavit alleged.
Gentry’s girlfriend also reported that Gentry came out of the room totally naked and tried to rape her friend, the affidavit alleged.
Physical evidence at the scene supported the alleged victim’s account, the affidavit said.
“There was a large, basketball-sized clump of hair in the floor along with several hot pink artificial nails, which were torn off of (the alleged victim’s) right hand while attempting to fend off Joshua,” the affidavit alleged.
The alleged victim “had an abrasion on the upper part of her right shoulder appearing to have been caused by her bra strap being pulled off of her,” the affidavit said.
“She also had abrasions and redness on the small of her back, as well as redness above her breasts where it appeared she had been grabbed,” the affidavit said.
The alleged victim “also removed small handfuls of hair every time she ran her hand through her head while talking with me after the attack,” the police sergeant wrote in his affidavit.
“Joshua had scratches appearing to have been caused by fingernails, redness around his genitalia and other redness and abrasions about his face and the front and back of his torso to support (the alleged victim’s) account of trying to fight him off, and (his girlfriend’s) account of trying to get Joshua off,” of her, the affidavit alleged.
The alleged victim underwent a sexual assault examination at the Stillwater Medical Center emergency room where evidence was collected to be submitted to the state crime bureau, the affidavit said.
“I will also be seeking a DNA sample from Joshua for submittal as well,” the police sergeant wrote in his affidavit.
