(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Bristow man who is serving a three-year prison term for endangering others while eluding Drumright Police Officer Mandy Folden in November has been given a concurrent three-year prison term for violating the probation he had received in a Stillwater attempted carjacking — in which he was dragged while holding onto the driver’s door of a pick-up truck.

Jeremy Rose, 21, admitted Friday to District Judge Phillip Corley that he violated the Payne County probation he was given last August by committing a crime in Creek County three months later.

In his Payne County case, when Rose was arrested in Stillwater shortly before 11 p.m. on Nov. 2, 2013, “he had road rash sores all over the left side of his body,” Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Fox wrote in an affidavit.

When a nurse at the Payne County Jail asked him, “What happened – did you get drug by a vehicle,” Rose admitted he had, the affidavit said.

The “drag on Mr. Rose’s inside right foot was so bad that it was down to the bone, so Mr. Rose had to be transported to the Stillwater Medical Center,” the affidavit said. At the time, Rose admitted to snorting methamphetamine earlier that day, the affidavit said.

For attempted car burglary and methamphetamine possession in Stillwater, Rose was initially placed on five years’ probation under a deferred sentence on Aug. 1, 2014, court records show.

Three months later, while he was on probation from Payne County, Rose was arrested in Creek County for endangering others while eluding the Drumright officer and possessing a drug on Nov. 12, 2014, court records show.

When Officer Folden saw that Rose was not wearing a seatbelt and had a non-working brake light, Rose “began to elude Officer Folden on a vehicle pursuit through Drumright,” according to a probation violation report by Probation and Parole Officer Teri Anderson.

“Rose led Officer Folden to the school zone near the Drumright High School where there were students returning from lunch and there were students standing outside on campus. Rose continued to fail to stop at numerous stop signs,” the report said.

As Rose turned south onto Virginia, “Rose forced a vehicle off the road which was occupied by (a woman) and a small child,” before Rose’s vehicle stalled in the middle of the road, the report said.

After restarting his vehicle, Rose continued to drive at an unsafe speed before his vehicle again stalled, the report said.

“At that time, Officer Folden instructed Rose to put his hands out the window,” but Rose opened the door and fled on foot, the report said.

During a foot pursuit, “Rose slipped and fell. Officers Webster and Folden were able to gain compliance and place Rose in restraints.

“During the pat down of Rose, a syringe and a black box containing two Darvocet, a cut straw and cotton were found. A syringe containing a clear liquid was located near a section where Rose was found,” the report said.

When his vehicle was searched, two syringes, two large knives, a spoon with a white residue, and cotton were located, the affidavit said.

The probation officer asked that the Payne County judge change his probationary term to incarceration, which was accomplished Friday.
