(Cushing, Okla.) The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.

A fatality collision occurred on July 9, 2015, at approximately 5:04 (am)on SH66 at County Road 3510 which is approximately 0.8 miles East of Davenport in Lincoln County.

Lori Ann McElroy (42) of Davenport was driving a 2011 GMC Terrain westbound on SH 66 when she encountered Daniel Raymond Young, Jr. (23) of Davenport traveling eastbound in his 2015 Chevrolet Malibu also on SH66. McElroy’s GMC for some reason went left of center into the path of Young’s Malibu where the vehicles struck head on.

McElroy was transported by Samaritan Ambulance to Stroud ER with multiple injuries where she later expired. Young was transported by Davenport EMS to Stroud ER with multiple injuries where he was admitted in stable condition.

According to DPS reports the GMC Terrain did not have seatbelts in use. However both vehicles had air bags in use.

The DPS report shows the cause of the collision to be going left of center.
