(Cushing, Okla.) Jim Pickard, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:18 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by prayer requests and a mention of Ami Whitlow Brown followed by prayer with Pastor Kevin Clouse.
Lions Club welcomed guests including Frank Holbert, Kateri Holbert’s son.
Installation of new Lions Club officers will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 with Installing Officer and Newly elected district 3H Governor Jacque Mooney heading up the Installation.
Pickard then informed the club about amounts that had been raised and expensed over the course of the last year from Lions Club fund raising projects and community service events like the Junior Olympics. Amounts raised, according to Pickard’s records, total $3,215. 45. Amount expensed for Junior Olympics was $471.29 (Which the club thinks of as funds well spent).
The final cabinet meeting for Lions District 3H will start at 9 (am), on June 13th (2015), at Stillwater Milling Company located at 502 E. Sixth Street in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Lions Club member and District Governor Tom Cummings received high recognition today from other club members for all of his hard work including, but not limited to, the “Sight Testing.”
Gerald Jolley talked with the club briefly about the Cushing Lions Club 4 Person Scramble that is slated to take place on Saturday, June 20th (2015). Registration will start at 7:30 (am) with Tee Off time at 8:00 (pm). Sponsors are still needed at a cost of $100 per hole. Parties interested in sponsoring the event should contact Gerald Jolley at 918-225-0660. Golfers will play a total of 18 holes. The proceeds will go to benefit Lions’ Club “Sight Testing” program for the local area.
Kateri Holbert, Lions Club Secretary, took a count for Tuesday’s attendance for the Installation Banquet. She then spoke to the club on membership development goals and the Engaging our Youth Campaign scheduled for August (2015).
The meeting adjourned around 12:50 (p.m.).
