(Drumright, Okla.)  The regular meeting of NE Oklahoma API Chapter will be held at Joseph’s Fine Foods in Drumright on Thursday, May 28, 2015. Oklahoma House of Representatives Speaker Pro Tempore Lee Denney will be the guest speaker. Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett will also be in attendance to answer questions.  The evening will begin at 6 p.m. for social hour, dinner at 7 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 8 p.m.

Rep. Denney will discuss regulatory changes and upcoming regulations.

Representative Lee Denney is from Cushing and serves District 33.  She is currently serving as Speaker Pro Tempore and previously has served as the ASsistant Majority Floor Leader and Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Common Education as well as serving on many other committees.

Rep. Denney is also a veterinarian, having earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and doctorate in veterinary medicine from Oklahoma State University.  She has been honored by the Journal Record as one of the states “50 Women Making a Difference.”  She has also received the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

Rep. Denney has two children – Will, who is currently working in web design and Kate, who is married to Craig Kupiec, and is a clinical pharmacist.  Kate and Craig have one son.

Commissioner Hiett was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1994 and was selected by his colleagues to be House Minority Leader in November of 2002.  After 12 years in the Oklahoma Legislature, he went on to work with various entities in the manufacturing, navigation and energy industries.  In this role, Commissioner Hiett has enjoyed the opportunity to work with many pro-growth companies such as Webco Industries and Callidus Technologies to strengthen and expand their ability to provide jobs.

He and his wife Bridget operate a ranch south of Kellyville and have three children.

Hiett was elected as Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner in 2014.
