(Cushing, Okla.) It’s been Alumni Week in Cushing and that means there were a lot of familiar faces swapping stories and sharing memories yesterday at Alumni Hall in downtown Cushing.
This has been the 30th year for the Cushing Alumni Association and so far they’ve pulled out all of the stops making it special.
Yesterday, May 22 (2015) Alumni Hall had the Silent Auction items on display all day and from 2 – 4 p.m. there was also an Open House. The timing was perfect to meet up with former classmates and have your picture taken with the Cushing Tiger Mascot (a special thanks to Dru Orr).
Friday evening was open for classes to have their own activities.
Then this morning…
Lions Club once again packed the Lion’s Den with hungry folks including Cushing Alumni at the Pancake Breakfast which is an annual event put on by the club. It was open to the public from 7 – 10:30 (am) and tickets were just $5 with all of the pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee you take in.
The Cushing Alumni parade got underway about 11 (am) with lineup beginning at 10:30 (am). The Parade Marshal was Dale Cotham, Class of 1962. Cotham has been involved with the Association since it started.
Music was scheduled to get underway around noon today Saturday 23 (2015) at Centennial Park .
Tonight’s activities will be held at the Cushing-Drumright Elks Lodge starting at 6 (pm) with the program beginning at approximately 7 p.m. with Hall of Fame inductions and introductions of this year’s scholarship recipients.
Bidding on Silent Auction items starts at 8 (pm) and payment must be in the form of cash or check only!
