(Cushing, Okla.) On Saturday May 2, the Yale Fire Department hosted an 8 hour Emergency Vehicle Driver Training course which was put on by OSU-Fire Service Training, instructed by Brian Wood, Fire Chief at Bixby.

There were 16 firefighters from across the state and different fire departments. The Yale Fire Department had 6 firefighters in attendance.

The course provides firefighters with knowledge and skills for new and existing drivers to safely and effectively operate emergency vehicles.

Topics that were covered during the Emergency Vehicle Driver Training class were Accident and Fatality Data, Driver Selection, Legal issues of Emergency Driving, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance, Emergency Vehicle operations, and a Driving Course.
