(Yale, Okla.) – On March 28 and 29th Yale Fire Department hosted a 16 hour Wildland Firefighting Skills Class. Two Fire Service Training instructors were on hand to teach the class, with 12 firefighters coming from all around the state to attend. Local departments represented were Yale, Perkins and Jennings.
Topics covered in the class were: Firefighter Safety, PPE, Tools and Equipment, Strategies and Tactics, Water Supply, Fire Control, and Progressive Hose lays. The standard taught was Wildland Firefighter 1, NFPA 1051.
