(Cushing, Okla.) The public is invited to hear from candidates for offices #1 and #2 of the Cushing Board of Commissioners Monday evening at 6:30 at First Free Will Baptist Church in Cushing.
Cushing Chamber of Commerce will host the event intended to inform voters prior to the election Tuesday, April 7th.
The Forum will be divided into two sessions, moderated by Cushing Chamber Director Tracy Caulfield. Seat #1 candidates Evert Rossiter and Trace Rowe will answer the questions while Seat #2 candidates Jim Hogrefe and Brent Thompson are sequestered. A coin toss prior to the start of the Forum will determine the order in which the candidates will answer prepared questions delivered by local media representatives. Candidates are not provided the questions prior to the Forum. Candidates are given 90 seconds to answer each question.
Possible question topics include: quality of life, general governing and authority of the city commission, infrastructure, city operations, role of a city commissioner, revitalization, housing, etc.
Following the two sessions, the venue will be cleared and one-on-one interviews to be conducted by Caulfield. Those interested in watching may do so by going to the Cushing Chamber of Commerce website: cushingchamber.org.
This is the third year to hold the Candidates Forum.
