The following information is a preliminary collision report furnished by the Department of Public Safety.
A collision involving four vehicles occurred at approximately 11:47 (pm) last night (March 14th, 2015) on I 35 northbound and 5th Street in Moore, Oklahoma (Cleveland County).
Conner Patrick Otis (21) of Norman, Oklahoma, was driving a 2013 Subaru traveling southbound in a northbound lane of Interstate 35 in the inside lane. Starla Dusteen Garcia (42) of San Antonio, Texas was driving a 2013 Ford Focus going northbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 in the inside lane. Otis’s 2013 Subaru struck the 2013 Ford Focus head on, and continued on departing the roadway to the right and striking a concrete barrier wall as well as a a third vehicle which was a 2006 Chevrolet HHR that was driven by Darby Rae Wright (19) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A fourth vehicle a 2013 Toyota Prius driven by Aaron Lee Wallace (40) of Stillwater, Oklahoma was struck by debris from the other three vehicles involved in the collision. Otis the driver of Subaru was pinned for about 20 minutes before being freed by the Moore Fire Department using the Hurst Tool. Garcia the driver of the Ford Focus was pinned for about two hours before being freed by the Medical Examiner.
Otis was transported by Midwest City Ambulance to OU Medical Center (Oklahoma City) where he was reported to be in critical condition, a 21 year old passenger in the Subaru with Otis from Norman, Oklahoma refused treatment at the scene. Garcia the driver of the Ford Focus was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries received or sustained in the collision, and a passenger in Garcia’s car Dalana Leeann Tyler (39) of Ninnekah, Oklahoma was transported by Midwest City Ambulance to OU Medical Center (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) where she was said to be admitted in good condition. Wright the driver of the third vehicle the 2006 Chevrolet HHR refused treatment at the scene and Wallace the driver of the fourth vehicle the Toyota Prius did not sustain any injuries according to reports.
Seat-belts were reportedly in use in all of the vehicles and the accident was reported to be caused by one of the vehicles going the wrong way. The condition of the driver is still under investigation.
