(Cushing, Okla.) Jim Pickard, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:17 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by prayer requests for local families along with prayer by Rev. Kathleen Leithner .
Lion of the Day- Lou Griffin then introduced speaker Karen Walker with Pipeline CrossRoads Clinic here in Cushing, Oklahoma. Karen talked with the club about expectations to come for the Pipeline CrossRoads Clinic and how they plan to extend their hours in the future and be open 7 days a week. The office currently has a staff of five – not counting Dr. Grellner, Dr. Hightower and Courtney Elliot Nurse Practioner. Walker told the club that as of now, the most patients to be seen in one day by the clinic is 48. The clinic is DOT Certified with a vision in Occupational Medicine.
Lion’s Board Meeting last week brought mention of an Annual Golf Tournament which was motioned on today and approved by the club. The date for the Golf Tournament is June 20 (2015).
Tom Cummings updated the club on the screenings that took place earlier today at Small Miracles Child Development Center, in all 21 children were tested and stickers were given.
Monty Waldron was present and received recognition for his sales efforts with Cowboy Cadillac sales and was presented a pin for his efforts.
Steve Spears recommended that the club reach out Drumright regarding the upcoming Junior Olympics to see if they were interested in carrying their own.
Kevin Clouse informed the club about the hardback books the school system was to be given later today at Harmony School.
Today’s 50/50 raffle winner was Steve Spears, who won $11.00.
The meeting adjourned around 1:00 (p.m.).
