(Stillwater, Okla.) — A driver accused of hitting a Stillwater bicyclist with his pickup truck and leaving the scene of the injury accident has been released from the Payne County Jail on $5,000 bond with an order to appear in court March 25 on a felony charge.
If convicted of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, Patton Lynn Moore, 21, of Pawnee, could be given a two-year prison term and a $1,000 fine, according to the charge filed in Payne County District Court last week.
Moore was allegedly driving a white 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck on Feb. 25 when it struck a Stillwater bicyclist at or near 2400 West Lakeview Road in Stillwater, according to the charge.
The bicyclist received an injury to his hip and was transported to the Stillwater Medical Center emergency room, the charge said.
Moore allegedly continued to drive his pickup until he was apprehended at Highway 177 and Lone Chimney Road in Payne County, according to the charge.
The case was investigated by the Stillwater Police Department, court records show.
