(Cushing, Okla.) Jim Pickard, President of the local Lions Club International, called the meeting to order today at 12:17 p.m. The agenda started with song and pledge by Lion Jerry Snyder. This was followed by prayer requests for local families along with prayer by Russ Thurman.

Lion Tom Cummings let the club members know that the eye screenings for Small Miracles Child Developement are scheduled to take place two weeks from today, at 10:15 (am) and 2:30 (pm).

Lions Club then introduced today’s speaker Tracy Caulfield, Executive Director for the Cushing Chamber of Commerce. Caulfield spoke to the club about current events that are or will be happening throughout this year; like moving forward with the Pipeline Interactive Center, Leadership Cushing, a seminar series sponsored by the Cushing Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Candidates Forum for Seats 1 and 2 – two with incumbent Evert Rossiter and Trace Rowe as candidates for Seat #1 and Brent Thompson and Jim Hogrefe for Seat #2 (media will give the questions), BBQ n Blues June 11th , 12th , and 13th (2015), and Business Facebook taught by Suzette Barta (March 3rd , 2015).

Cummings told club members that he will speak during Leadership Cushing, about Lion’s Club on March 26, 2015 (during Local Non-Profits Organizations).

The 50/50 raffle was not held today.

The meeting adjourned around 12:44 (p.m.).

Cushing Lions Club meets each Tuesday at noon in the Lion’s Den in downtown Cushing.
