(Cushing, Okla.) After nearly 17 years of service on Cushing’s Board of Commissioners, Joe Manning has announced he will not run for re-election this spring.
The following is a statement released to KUSH by Manning on Wednesday:
To the Citizens of Cushing:
2015 marks my 17th year of service on Cushing’s Board of Commissioners. During those years it has been my honor to serve as Chairman for ten years and as Vice-Chairman for five years.
During my travels, people ask about the City of Cushing and are amazed at its stability and financial soundness.
In the numerous leadership positions I have held in many organizations in Oklahoma and nationally, it has always been my philosophy to work hard, serve well and then step aside so others may have their opportunity to lead. Accordingly, I will not be a candidate for re-election to the City Commission this Spring.
I sincerely thank the Citizens of Cushing for the opportunity of service and look forward to our City’s continued progress.
JOE MANNING
Manning is currently serving as Chairman of the Cushing Board of Commissioners.
