OKLAHOMA CITY – Department of Public Safety Officials announce the recent promotion of trooper John Vincent to Lieutenant. Effective September 15th, 2014, Trooper John Vincent will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to Troop A – Oklahoma City Metro where he will be a field supervisor. Lieutenant Vincent will also continue his dignitary protection duties for OSU Head Football Coach, Mike Gundy.

Lieutenant Vincent graduated from Wilberton High School in 1989, before graduating with a mass communication degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1995. In 2002, he joined the ranks of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol when he graduated from the 54th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy. Lieutenant Vincent has held assignments in Troop K, Cimarron Turnpike, Executive Security, and Dignitary Protection for OSU Head Football Coach, Mike Gundy and former Head Coach, Les Miles. Lieutenant Vincent, his wife Kylie, and their two sons, Nate and Blake, reside in Perkins.

A promotion ceremony will be held at the Robert R. Lester Training Center on Monday, September 22nd at 9:00 a.m. The public and media are invited to attend.
