James Jim Mullins, 78 of Cushing, passed from this life Monday July 21st at the V.A. Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Jim was born March 29, 1936 in Idabel, Oklahoma, to Tams Livingston and Neva Belle Mullins. Jim graduated from High School and married Shirley Tanksley on March 7, 1958 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Jim and Shirley made their home in Cushing and raised their daughter’s. Jim was a fun loving man. He loved to help others. Jim worked for Amoco Pipeline Company. Jim could be seen on his golf cart, wheeling around town. He raised chickens and goats. Jim built his own violin. He loved to travel and camp. Jim loved to talk and be with his grandchildren. Jim was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. American Legion. At one time he had been a mechanic on big trucks.
Jim is survived by his wife Shirley of the home. Two daughters:
Betty and husband Jeff Irons of Cushing. Linda Marie Mullins of Texas City, Texas. Two brothers: Kenneth Wade Mullins of Luling, Louisiana and Bobby Lee Romines of Sand Springs. He is also survived by two granddaughters and one grandson. He is also survived by Connie and Gerry Stober of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Debbie Sue Mullins. Jim was very close to Shirley’s parents and her two brothers. They all preceded Jim in death.
Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday July 25, 2014 in the chapel of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Ponca City Oklahoma at 2:00 P.M.
