(Cushing, Okla.)  – On Monday July 7, 2014 just after 7:00 p.m., Cushing Police Sergeant Adam Harp, received information, regarding 45 year old Cushing resident Heather L. Hesson driving without a valid driver’s license.

Sgt. Harp then confirmed Hesson’s license status through dispatch, which showed to be revoked. Sgt. Harp then drove the area where Hesson was last seen driving. While in the area, Sgt. Harp located Hesson, who was driving her vehicle southbound in the area of 5th and Independence.

Sgt. Harp then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon contacting Hesson, Sgt. Harp explained the reason for the stop, which Hesson admitted that she knew her license was revoked, but could not find anyone to drive her home. Following the conversation, Sgt. Harp placed Hesson under arrest.

Prior to being placed in Officer Hentges patrol car, Hesson advised officers that she had, “baggie of scrape” in her bra area. Officer Hentges later retrieved a small clear Ziploc baggie, which contained a crystal like substance and one small clear plastic baggie containing a crystal like substance, which was rolled up and twisted in Hesson’s bra.

The above items were later field tested, which tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. A measurement was taken from the arrest location to the Memorial Park, which was 834 feet.

Hesson was held at the Cushing Police Department on complaints for driving while driver’s license is revoked, possession of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a park after felony conviction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“I want to commend the actions of Sgt. Harp and Officer Hentges during this traffic stop, which led to Hesson’s arrest and the removal of drugs from our city streets,” Chief Tully Folden said.

Hesson has been transported to the Payne County Sheriff’s Department this morning and is expected to appear in court this afternoon.
