(Cushing, Okla) Two Oklahoma drivers died earlier today when their vehicles collided on State Highway 51 in Creek County.
According to OHP reports, Wayne Anderson (71) of Yale was west bound on State Highway 51 in a 2008 Ford Pickup while Herman James (79) of Enid and his passenger Deanna James (68) also of Enid were east bound in a 2006 Chevrolet Pickup (towing a 24′ camping trailer) on State Highway 51. Anderson’s vehicle traveled left of center while the vehicle driven by James swerved to the right where it was struck by Anderson’s on the highway’s shoulder.
Due to vehicle damage and injury severity, both drivers were pinned and extricated by Mannford Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.
Deanna James, a passenger in the 2006 Chevrolet Pickup, was transported by Mannford EMS to St Johns (Tulsa) where she was treated and released.
Seat belts were in use.
