(Cushing, Okla) Commissioner Don Amon officially took his seat at the Special City Meeting held this morning at 10:00 a.m. at Cushing’s City Hall. Commissioner Don Amon then joined up with other City Officials to proceed with the first order of business –electing Chairman and Vice Chairman to the Boards. Joe Manning was elected as Chairman and Tommy Johnson as Vice Chairman. The vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Don Amon was elected to serve a three year term on Seat #5 April 1, 2014 and was sworn to the position this morning by City Judge Bill Ahrberg.
In other City business this morning payment was approved to K9 Working Dogs International, LLC for the sum of $11,295 for the dual purpose Police Canine for the Police Department.
A special joint meeting of the Cushing Board of Commissioners will be held this evening at 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Center. This meeting is open to the public.
