Mary Lou Wood, age 81 of Oilton, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday April 28, 2014 at Highland Cemetery, Oilton, Ok.  Pastor Mark Compton will officiate.   Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Ok.

Visitation will be held from 3 ~ 8 p.m, on Friday and 1 ~6 on Saturday.

Mary Lou was born on September 30, 1932 in Oilton, Oklahoma to the late Dallas N. and Mayme E. (Moyer) Arnold.  She grew up in Oilton, graduating from Oilton High School in 1950.  She married her high school sweetheart Carl Wood on September 6, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Oilton and to this union Carla and Stephanie were born.  Mary Lou worked as a Key Punch Operator in Tulsa and the Cushing areas for many years.  She ended her working career as an Administrative Assistant for the Oilton High School Superintendent’s office.  She enjoyed many crafts including knitting, needle point, and crocheting.  She was a great cook and spent many hours canning the produce from the garden her husband raised.  She loved people.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 61 years Carl Wood of the home, daughters Stephanie Wood of Irving, Tx. and Carla Whipp and husband Lowell of Scottsdale, Az.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Max Arnold and Bernard Hinds, one sister Maxine Thompson.
