Kenneth Claxton, age 72 passed away at his home in Montgomery Texas, on Thursday April 17, 2014. Kenneth was born on March 20, 1942 to the long time Cushing residents Emery and Louise (Gearhart) Claxton. Memorial Services are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home on April 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing Oklahoma.
Kenneth graduated from Cushing High School before moving to Tulsa where he was employed as an engineer for CE Invalco. Kenneth was an observer of his environment. He would not only study the nature around him, but he also read and listened much more than he spoke. He spent time crafting this data into a treasure of wisdom. He would share some of this treasure through his poetry or delightful letters. Everything he said or wrote was condensed from much consideration and was a gift for the recipient. Later in life Kenneth pursued a career in real estate with Stromann’s Realty in Conroe Texas. During this period, he found his home on Lake Livingston where he could retire to pursue working on his art and listening to music. Kenneth is survived by his daughter Brinda Briscoe and her husband Steve Briscoe of Arlington Texas, his granddaughter Lia Fincel also from Arlington, and his brother Eddie Claxton and wife Gaylen of Cushing.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his Parents.
