Sheryl Kay Retherford, age 65 of Perkins, formerly of Colorado, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home in Perkins.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, OK.  Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Sheryl was born on December 8, 1948 in Olathe, Colorado to the late Harvey A. and Edna (Boyd) Myers.  She grew up and attended school in Olathe, Colorado.  Sheryl was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in February of 1964 by Brother Bobby Byers.  Sheryl married the love of her life Jody Retherford on December 22, 1964 in Delta, Colorado.  She was a very good mom and worked very hard raising her children.  They lived in Sacramento, CA then to Olathe, CO. in 1971 Redding, CA. then back to Colorado until moving to Perkins in 2005.  They assembled at the Yale General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.  She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting and making doll clothes for the grandchildren.  She also made quilts for many of her family.  Sheryl was a very positive person that never complained.

Sheryl is survived by her husband of 49 years Jody Retherford of the home.  Their children Jeannie Carner and husband Tim of Tryon, Bobby Ray Retherford and wife Mary of Grand Junction, Co., Kellie Bellew of Perkins and son-in-law Gary Bellew of Cushing, Carl Retherford and wife Teshea of Tulsa, Joe Retherford and wife Frankie of Perkins, sisters Patty Arnold and husband Robert of Slaughterville, Ok., Wanda Gibson and husband Greg of Delta, Co., grandchildren Teresa Carner, Dale Carner, Brad Carner and wife Nicole, Dean Carner, Josh Carner, Daniel Carner, Katy Carner, Gabriel Retherford, Amanda Retherford, Elijah Retherford, Jessie Bellew, Stehen Bellew, Samual Bellew, Grace Bellew, Angelica Retherford, Alora Retherford, Brittny Retherford, Koal Retherford, Alina Retherford, great grandchildren Jakeb, Kiley and Rylan Bellew, Michiel, Magan, Leah and Lily Carner.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Edna Byers, grandsons Matthew Bellew and Seth Bellew, brother Lester “Bud” Byers, sisters Mary Neely and Betty Ashby.
