(Cushing, Okla.) Cushing Lions Club will be holding its annual White Cane drive Friday April 18th and Saturday April 19th. Club members will at two locations on Friday, the Post Office and Food Pyramid and at Walmart from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19th.
The White Cane fundraiser is a way to promote community awareness of the white cane law and is in keeping with the Lions’ established tradition of assisting the blind. Monies raised will go toward the Lions’ continued support of the Oklahoma Eye Bank in Oklahoma City.
Since the Eye Bank’s inception in 1957, it has provided over 24,000 donated corneas which have resulted in over 18,000 cornea transplant surgeries.
Stop by and make a donation to help the Lions help others. Just look for the yellow vests!
