Distinguished not only by the purple shirts they wore, but by the look of determination on their faces, cancer survivors took their place of honor Friday night at Relay For Life.
Friday, due to threatening skies, Relay For Life ceremonies were moved from O’Dell Field to inside the Elk’s Lodge.
However, nothing deterred those who worked so hard to try and bring the community together toward the fight against cancer.
Relay for Life 2008 committee chairs were: Marcia Pixler and Willetta Shields (event co-chairs), Kelly Crooks (corporate sponsorship), Darrel Negelein & Susie Brennan (accounting/registration), Bennie Reed (entertainment), Tammy Houtchens/Stephanie Pool (team development chair), Patricia Cash (survivors), Chris Pixler (publicity and logistics), Kristi Nicholas (luminarias) and Susan Flesner (ACS Staff).
