NASHVILLE, TN (February 5, 2014) – Country group LiveWire made huge strides in 2013. The band is charging into 2014 with awards show nominations, a slate of high-profile concerts, and is currently in the studio working on new music to capitalize on its strong momentum.
2013 saw LiveWire’s single “Whiskey Sunday,” from its debut album LIVIN,’ make an extended run in the upper reaches of the Texas and MusicRow charts. The single’s video was announced with a feature story in Billboard, made its official debut on CMT.com, and was added to playlists at hundreds of retail stores, restaurants, clubs and bowling alleys across the U.S. That was followed with airplay at ZUUS Country, The Nashville Network and at Yallwire where it was the #1 most-watched Country video on the platform for several weeks in a row. Headlining shows and support slots with Kyle Park, The Lacs, Roy Clark, Mark Chesnutt and the Marshall Tucker Band further bolstered their rep as a top-shelf touring act.
2014 is shaping up to be an even bigger breakthrough year for the veteran band; just this week, LiveWire earned Round Two Nominations as “New Group/Band of the Year” at the Texas Regional Radio Awards Show. Last weekend, LiveWire performed to an SRO crowd at a special “Homecoming Concert” at the Downstream Casino and Resort near its hometown of Joplin, Mo., continuing to graduate to headliner status in venues where it once performed as a house band. And, while the group eagerly anticipates its first series of upcoming full-band concerts in Texas, LiveWire was recently announced as second stage headliners at the Kicker Country Stampede festival in Manhattan, Ks. on Sat. June 28 on a bill that includes Eric Church, Luke Bryan and Will Hoge, among many other stars. And the band will return for its fourth consecutive year to perform on the stage of Oklahoma’s largest free July 4th extravaganza, the OilPatch Festival, in Drumright.
LiveWire is currently writing and recording music for its next Way Out West Records’ single and album. But while fans are waiting for new music, the band members – and former members – have opened their personal vaults to share vintage music, photographs and videos from the decade-long history of the group with their followers on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/
“Like the old saying goes, ‘Sometimes you need to look back at where you have been to fully appreciate how far you’ve come’,” says band founder and lead guitarist Bobby DeGonia. “We cut our teeth traveling on the road and playing in bars all across America,” continues lead singer Andy Eutsler. “It is really funny to look back on some of this stuff, but it makes us even more determined to keep working hard to make it all finally pay off.”
In addition to DeGonia and Eutsler, LiveWire includes fiddle/harmony vocalist Cory Shultz and drummer Brad Allen. Rounding out the stage ensemble are musicians Paul Carrabello on bass guitar and Scott Kwapiszeski on pedal steel/guitar/banjo.
