(Cushing, Okla.)  Just after 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2014, Sgt. Adam Harp and Chief Tully Folden conducted a follow up interview with Cushing resident, Aaron Scott Halencak W/M, 27 years of age, at a residence in Stillwater, in regard to the recent Armed Robbery of the Steer Inn Family Restaurant and Armed Robbery of the Maveric Mini Mart store on Cherry Street.

During the interview, Halencak confessed to being the person responsible for the armed robbery of the Maveric Mini Mart store on the night of December 20, 2013, as well as, being the person responsible for an auto burglary at EZ Ice in Cushing where he stole a gun earlier the same day.

Halencak was arrested in relation to the armed robbery of the Maveric Mini Mart Store, and subsequently transported to the Payne County Sheriff’s Department. Halencak is being held on complaints of first degree robbery, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, and second degree burglary of an automobile.  *Halencak was arraigned in court, Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at which time bond was set at $250,000.*

Cushing Police continue to follow up on leads, in regard to the Steer Inn robbery.
