(Cushing, Okla.) Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is hosting the October Lunch & Learn, Wednesday, Oct. 23rd in the hospital’s Auxiliary Education Room. This month’s featured presenter is Dr. Michael Mann, MD. Dr. Mann is a General Surgeon and performs surgeries at Hillcrest Hospital Cushing.
Dr. Mann will be presenting information on screening colonoscopies. Information will include:
*Reason for colonoscopy
*What to expect before and after colonoscopy
*Description of colonoscopy
Those attending will also learn:
*Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
*It CAN be prevented!
*National guidelines recommend screening colonoscopy starting at age 50 and at least every 10 years thereafter.
*This procedure is also specifically mentioned in the Affordable Care Act.
