(Cushing, Oklahoma) 2013 marks 25 years for the Red Dirt Rangers Band and the group has blazed a trail to a new Cd titled Lone Chimney by way of blood, sweat and tears with the help of the world wide web and a site by the name of Kickstarter.  Any one, anywhere can enlist the help of this company to launch and raise funds for projects and the Kickstarter project for the Red Dirt Ranger’s Cd production costs of their newest Cd; Lone Chimney – are certainly proof that where there are fans – there is aid!

I have been following this project for the Rangers early on from it’s beginning and I am excited to say that  – the Red Dirt Rangers have not only met the goal they set for their Lone Chimney Cd project – but have exceeded their goal with a 107% of the target met.

Kickstarter is home for everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of projects, big and small, that are brought to life through the direct support of people just like you and me. Since the company’s launch in 2009, more than 3.9 million people have pledged over $591 million, funding more than 40,000 creative projects. Thousands of creative projects are raising funds on Kickstarter – and the Rangers are proof – it works!

As a part of their twenty five year celebration, the Red Dirt Rangers have embarked on a Oklahoma tour – to quote the Red Dirt Rangers,”The Oklahoma World Tour will be a follow up to what we did way back in ’94, touring as much of Oklahoma as we can to “spread the dirt.”  Details for this state tour can be found by clicking on this link from the Red Dirt Ranger’s website:

I am sure that all of this is more than enough bring out those Red Dirt Rangers fans to a concert date near their hometown – and maybe – just maybe they might take a drive to Cushing to check out the latest music craze happening right here – in the pipeline crossroads of the world!

The Cushing Country Club and John Cooper of the Red Dirt Rangers have hosted monthly music venues for over a year now – including the mighty talents of Tom Skinner, Brad Piccolo, Monica Taylor, Joe Baxter of Joe Baxter and the Lost Cause, the talented and zany Rick Reiley along with his Dust Bowl Brothers, Gene Collier, Randy Williams and yes, Tom Skinner’s brother, Craig Skinner too.  Grammy nominee John Fullbright played to a sold out house at the CCC Thursday music event last December- and yes, all of these musicians, singers and songwriters mentioned are just a few of the Oklahoma talents which have played in an intimate setting like no other – live at the Cushing Country Club.  Cushing is truly blessed to have this fabulous music venue each month!

And now – for the REALLY BIG NEWS!

The Red Dirt Rangers will host a CD Lone Chimney release party  on May 23 for May’s Thursday monthly music venue at the CCC!

This event WILL be open to the public and the cost is $10 per person.  The party will start at 7 pm and promises to be a Red Dirt Ranger celebration on a more intimate level during what will be a year of hustle and bustle for these singing legends – so don’t miss it!

From the gang at KUSH Radio, we congratulate the Red Dirt Rangers on their longevity – may you be blessed with another twenty five – and may our local radio station continue to be blessed with the talents of Oklahoman artists just like those of the Red Dirt Rangers!   Cheers!
