(Cushing, Ok.)  Music lovers are in for a treat as John Cooper hosts Joe Baxter as his special musical guest for this month’s Third Thursday Music Event at the Cushing Country Club on March 21 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Joe Baxter has been in and out and all around the red dirt circuit for years and most recently released a Cd in 2012 with band members, The Lost Cause.

The Cd titled Soldier Creek Waltz, was produced by Joe and  recorded live by J.L. Haxton at Benson Sound in Oklahoma City on April 25 of 2012.

The Lost Cause Band members are Rachel Wagnon doing banjo and vocals, Marco Tello on lead guitar and vocals, Nokosee Fields on violin, Kurt Nielsen on Mandolin, John Williams on Harmonica and Kevin McCaleb on bass.

Within the words written inside of the Cd jacket, Joe writes that Soldier Creek runs about 75 yards from his backyard and flows to the North Canadian River some 5 miles from his place and it also flows through his dreams from time to time.  Joe explains that this collection of songs – some of which are older and some newer, all fit well in to his 2012 musical frame of mind and thanks his friends for helping him mark “Live Studio Recording” off of his bucket list.

Within the inside of the Cd jacket, Joe also thanks his wife, friends and family for encouraging him – inflating and deflating his ego as nessasary.  Joe Baxter has a sharp wit and a sense of humor that is most enjoyable during a live performance – and the lyrics of his songs are clever and are not soon forgotten once they get in your head!

The Cd is lovingly dedicated to his grandparents, William and Florence Baxter of Mt. Nebo, West Virginia and Bernard and Iva McCabe of Okarche, Oklahoma.  Joe acknowledges that his grandparents all beat the depression and raised “the greatest generation” – giving credit where credit is due.

Joe Baxter’s humor and animated style of performance makes him a “must see” act this month at the CCC, as John Cooper of the Red Dirt Ranger’s presents another fabulous musical guest live at the Cushing Country Club – don’t miss it!
