(Cushing, Okla.)  Today Cushing Police along with F.B.I. Agents conducted interviews with two former Cushing residents, Wilson McKinney Indian male 18 and an Indian male juvenile 16, regarding their involvement with the recent school threats.

As a result of those interviews, the juvenile male was arrested by Cushing Police for his involvement, while McKinney was interviewed and released. McKinney is now being treated as a material witness by police.

Cushing Police transported the juvenile male from Tulsa to the Payne County District Courthouse, where a detention hearing was held. At the conclusion of the hearing, the juvenile male was ordered to be held in a secure detention facility and was given a $75,000.00 bond.

“After our conversation with the juvenile male, it is now safe to say that the threats received were in fact a hoax”, Chief Tully Folden said. “During no time in the investigation did we find any evidence that would support either threat”, Folden said.

“I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to every agency and officer who spent countless hours ensuring the safety of our greatest assets, our children”, Chief Folden said.
