(Cushing, Okla.)  Cushing Public School Superintendent Koln Knight made this statement regarding police presence at Cushing schools:

“Cushing Public School officials have been cooperating with law enforcement officials to investigate two internet based threat communications. Friday a threat was made to the Cushing Middle School and this weekend a threat was made to the Cushing High School. Law enforcement officials in cooperation with school officials did a precautionary search of the high school campus on Sunday. The Cushing Police Department will continue to investigate and offer additional security to protect our students. These threats are unvalidated. We will have school today with an increase level of security from staff and law enforcement. We are taking all precautions to ensure student safety.”

*Superintendent Knight also told parents who did not receive the recorded message last Friday, to please check with their child’s school to make sure contact information is correct.*
