(Cushing, Okla.) Hillcrest Hospital|Cushing honored the ladies and gentlemen that volunteer at the Hospital with a Christmas Brunch on December 18. Those in attendance enjoyed the brunch prepared by Brian Wright and his staff and received a gift from the Hospital. Shauna Jones has served as the planner for this event for many years.
Each year the volunteers are honored in recognition of their time spent at the Information Desk, the Second Floor Surgery Waiting Room, the Snack Bar, the Life Line, knitting new-born caps, as well as the many other functions that take place behind the scenes. There are over 50 individuals that spent many hours working and earning funds to be donated to the Hospital.
During 2012 over $100,000 was donated to the Hospital to improve the quality of health care in the Community. The largest amount was given for the Physical Therapy renovation that is taking place at the corner of Cherry and Wilson. The building is undergoing renovation so patients are able to have better physical therapy care. New equipment, purchased by the CRH Foundation, will be installed.
Other projects for 2012 are: money given to install new Emergency Room safety locks for night entrances and exits; money for Emergency Room equipment; money for a new cash register for the cafeteria; money to up-grade the Life Line machine; and money to re-cover the chairs in the Surgery Waiting Room.
All funds are raised by the sale of food at the Snack Bar, gift items at the Gift Shop, and from the rent of Life Line equipment.
The CRH Auxiliary is always in need of new volunteers. If you would like to help, please contact Debbie Wilson, Auxiliary President, at 918-225-4870 for more information.
