(Cushing, Okla.) At noon on Friday, August 3rd, those who grew up in Washington Heights in Cushing will begin coming home to celebrate their roots.  Those who lived or currently live in the Washington Heights neighborhood will celebrate its 100 years in existence with the 2nd annual Washington Heights Reunion.

Registration for the three-day event begins at noon on Friday at the old Booker T. Washington library on N. Cleveland.  Visiting about Washington Heights rich history will continue throughout the day.  A street dance will begin at “dark-thirty” in what is known as “The Bottom.”   Music will be played by deejay “Danny Boy” and will feature popular favorites of the past.

On Saturday the fun will continue with a breakfast at 9 a.m., a health fair throughout the day and a banquet at 3 p.m. at the Cushing Senior Citizen Center.  Saturday evening a gospel concert will be held featuring “Inspired” and “The Messengers”.  Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy some great gospel music.

The reunion will end on Sunday with a Sunday morning service at 9 a.m. with special speaker Stephen Moore.
