(Cushing, Okla.) The ever popular announcer Justin McKee will return as the announcer for the 20th time at the Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo.
McKee is perhaps best known for his time spent as the Voice of the PBR, but to Cushing Rodeo fans, he’s a lot like family.
“We like Cushing,” McKee said “And as long as they keep inviting us back – we’ll keep coming back.”
His folksy charm, humor and knowledge of bulls has made him popular in the rodeo circuit. His network credits include NBC, CBS, Foxsports, Versus and RFD-TV. And chances are, if you’ve seen bull riding on tv, the voice you heard was Justin McKee. He’s announced some of the biggest PRCA rodeos in the country – including Cheyenne Frontier Days, Pendleton Round-Up, Calgary Stampede and the American Royal.
But announcing isn’t all he does. McKee is still a very active steer roping competitor. He will disappear from the announcing booth and appear in the arena ready and able to rope a steer. In 2005, McKee finished 18th in the PRCA World Standings of Steer Roping and 35th in 2011 with a very limited number of rodeos entered.
One of his most recent projecst was being co-host of “Inside the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo” on Great American Country network (GAC). Guests on the show included superstars from both Rodeo and Country Music.
‘He could charm the britches off a bow-legged bull’ may not be one of those well-known “McKeeisms”, but it’s a good description of this man of many talents.
Simply said, Justin McKee is a class act and Cushing is mighty happy to have him back again at the 2012 Cushing Community PRCA Rodeo.
Justin is an endorsee for Wrangler, Priefert, Cactus Ropes and Silver Lining Herbs. His wife Jeannie raises and trains barrel horses and together with daughter Kassidy, own and operate a beef cow & calf operation with herds in Kansas, Oklahoma and East Texas. Justin is also a Pastor at Cowboy Capital Fellowship in their hometown of Lenapah Oklahoma.
