(Cushing, Okla.) The Cushing Regional Hospital Foundation, with the assistance of the Cushing Masonic Lodge, has announced the winners of the 2012 Charity Golf Event. Although there were many winning teams – as well as individuals – the biggest winner is the community at large. The count is in – and there was over $13,000 in funds raised for scholarships for Cushing EMTs to become paramedics and to provide better medical care for the Cimarron Valley region.
Many businesses, organizations, and individuals make this event possible each year. There are 8 donors that contribute $1000 or $2000 toward the event. Following their contributions, there are 9 Gold Sponsors donating $600 each, 5 Silver Sponsors donating $300 each and 9 Bronze Sponsors donating $200 each. There were also 9 businesses donating gifts and gift certificates for the Welcome Bags. In addition, there are about 30 volunteers that make the day possible.
There were a total of 23 teams at the Cushing Country Club for the day of play. Prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in A and B Flights.
Winners of the A Flight were Bank of Cushing winning 1st. Their team consisted of Russ Moyer, Carol Brown, Clayton Badger and Jonathan Young.
Rodolfo’s, Daniel Hernandez, Reggie Gaskins, Scott House and Jennifer Snow, were 2nd and Joe and Kay Smith Farms came in 3rd. Their team was made up with Brent Kerr, Clayton Kerr, Jason Ward and Tyler Stuckey.
B Flight Winners: First place went to Central Technology with Phil Waul, Ron Dryer, Kent Burris and Don Temple. Second place was SpiritBank with Denny Bond, Topper Cansby, Jonathan Hendrix, and Blake Barnett. 3rd place winner was Big Four Petroleum with Zach Anderson, Nick Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, and Rob Maier.
Women and Men individual winners were Nicholas Anderson for Men’s Longest Drive and Angie Vaughn for the Women’s Longest Drive. Tammy Wasson was the Women’s Closest to the Pin and Nick Tanner was the Men’s Closest to the Pin.
Daniel Hernandez was the big money winner of the day making a 50 foot putt. Daniel won $2500 from the big putt! The putting contest was sponsored by the Kalka Insurance Agency.
