(Drumright, Okla.) The Sellers Ranch in Drumright will once again be the place to be this July 4th at the annual Summer OilPatch Festival! Festival organizer Rick Sellers is pulling out all stops for this year’s party in honor of Drumright’s Centennial. It is an all-day celebration with music, food, magicians, stilt-walkers, helicopter landings, skydivers, a children’s area and the BIGGEST fireworks display in the region! And it is all FREE! Yes…you read that right…it’s FREE!
Sellers announced that this year’s headliner is country star Kix Brooks, formerly of the world-famous, award-winning Brooks and Dunn. The Summer OilPatch Festival welcomes Brooks as he launches his solo career. Brooks recently released a new single, “New To This Town.”
The musical lineup includes special guest star Shawna Russell plus LiveWire, the Flat River Band, and the ever-popular Red Dirt Rangers! Music starts at noon.
Joseph’s Fine Food, Pacer Energy Marketing and the many local OilPatch sponsors are preparing a traditional 4th of July luncheon with hot dogs and hamburgers, serving at NOON – until the buns run out!
Sellers expects this year’s party to be the biggest and best EVER! “Last year we had around 10,000 people,” he said. “We are expecting even more this year.”
The festival began as a company party, but has grown to be known as a “one-of-a-kind” FUN family event that draws people from all around the region. It was in 2008 that Sellers ramped it up by booking pop and country icon B.J. Thomas to perform. Since then, musical guests such as Head East and Ricochet have graced the stage.
Sellers also takes great pride in the fact the event provides a way to introduce and feature rising local talent. Oklahoma’s Shawna Russell, who hails from Okemah, has graduated from opening act to featured artist. Over the past five years, Russell has gained international radio airplay and coverage in publications such as Country Weekly. Her latest single, “Sounds Like A Party,” is the “Official Song” of this year’s Summer OilPatch Festival.
Country band LiveWire made its debut at the festival in 2011. LiveWire has released several successful radio singles in the U.S. and Europe in the past year and has drawn national attention in Billboard.com with their video and single of “Miracle Of The Human Spirit,” which benefits tornado victims in their hometown of Joplin, MO.
Also returning this year – Nashville-based Flat River Band, which features three brothers whose sound combines Country, Americana and Bluegrass influences.
Red dirt music fans will be happy to hear the Red Dirt Rangers will be making their OilPatch debut this year. OilPatch veteran Bo Phillips will also make an appearance.
From tasty barbeque to great music to an awe-inspiring fireworks display, the Summer OilPatch Festival is something you don’t want to miss! It definitely “Sounds Like A Party!” GATES OPEN AT 11 A.M.
The Summer OilPatch Festival is sponsored by Keystone Gas Corporation, Pacer Energy Marketing and the many “Friends of the OilPatch.”
