(Stillwater, Okla) – District Attorney Tom Lee announced that he has requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation conduct an investigation into numerous allegations that two members of the Payne County Commission violated the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act.
Lee said the investigation will not involve the Commission’s decision to re-allocate road funds. The Commission was within the law in its decision during the May 21st meeting to re-allocate road funds after discussion and consideration.
Lee said he cannot predict the length of time the investigation will take.
Lee said that upon completion of the investigation he will ask Attorney General Scott Pruitt to assign another District Attorney to review the report because his office represents the Payne County Commission.
