(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Stroud man — who was already facing a charge of breaking into a car parked at a Cushing convenience store in November — was charged Tuesday with stealing a car in Cushing on Sunday.

Clint Charles Johnson, 25, who remains in the Payne County Jail on $20,000 bail, is also wanted by authorities in Lincoln County where he is on probation for concealing stolen property and drug possession in Stroud in 2010.

If convicted of stealing a 2004 silver Dodge Neon on April 8 in Cushing after a prior felony conviction in Lincoln County, Johnson could be given a 20-year prison term, court records show.

Three months ago, Johnson was charged with breaking into a 1995 Ford Taurus at a Cushing convenience store parking lot on Nov. 4, 2011, court records show.

While Johnson was in the Cushing city jail on Nov. 15, 2011, awaiting transportation to Creek County on a warrant there, “Clint admitted to taking the purse from the vehicle at Maveric Mini Mart on Main Street because he was strung out on dope, meth,” Cushing Police Detective Adam Harp alleged in an affidavit in that case.
