(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Drumright man — accused of committing lewd acts on a young female relative when he lived in Cushing more than 10 years ago — has been arrested and ordered to appear in court Monday afternoon.

Joshua D. Capdeville, 36, remains in the Payne County Jail in lieu of posting $30,000 bail, a sheriff’s spokesman told KUSH Monday morning.

The sexual abuse allegedly occurred between March 1, 1999, and July 1, 2000, when the girl was very young and lived in Cushing, according to the charge filed last week by prosecutor Tyson Branyan.

It came to light last year when the now-teenage girl began having bad dreams involving Capdeville last year, Cushing Police Detective Adam Harp alleged in an affidavit.

She said “in the dream she was real young, four or five, and that Joshua would wake her up and told her to touch his penis,” the affidavit alleged.

She said that in this dream she only recalled one incident that occurred when she lived in a trailer in Cushing, the affidavit alleged.

She said that “Joshua told her that the bad dream was true about six months ago, and that the incident did happen when she was young and lived in Cushing,” the affidavit alleged.

She said that due to allegations involving one of her brothers that she told another relative about this dream, the affidavit said.

When Capdeville was interviewed last September at his Drumright residence by Creek County Department of Human Services Child Welfare Specialist Crystal Madden and the Cushing detective, he said “the incident was not a dream — that the incident did happen,” the affidavit alleged.

Cushing city utilities showed that Capdeville lived in Cushing from 1999 until 2003, the affidavit said.

“Joshua said that he remembers the incident took place on a Saturday morning right before going to work,” the affidavit alleged.

“Joshua said that he had evil thoughts, sexual thoughts of doing stuff to her, but could not remember what those thoughts were,” the affidavit alleged.

He said that he remembered waking up the child, but that the incident was fuzzy, the affidavit alleged.

“Joshua said that a voice in his head kicked in and said, ‘What the hell are you doing?"” the affidavit alleged.

He said that after the girl told him about her dreams in January or February 2011, he told her “the dream that she was having was in fact real, and that she did not take it well,” the affidavit alleged.

She said that the girl “seemed relieved that he told her, because it wasn’t in her mind as being a dream, and didn’t want her to think she was crazy,” the affidavit alleged.

If convicted of performing lewd acts on a child, Capdeville could be given a 20-year prison term, court records show.
