Jess Earl Fine, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at this home in Cushing at the age of 59 years.
Jess Earl Fine was born on November 11, 1952 in Bixby, Oklahoma to Bill Fine and Lela (Kelley) Fine. He married LeAnne Taylor on March 17, 1983.
Jess worked in the plastics industry for 30 years operating machinery that produced custom-made products as well as products serving food distribution across the United States. He last worked as lead man for Hiland Dairy in Chandler, OK, making plastic containers. Jess loved experimenting with alternative energy resources. He was especially drawn to solar energy. He cooked many meals in a “solar box” situated in the backyard. He was an innate gardener and reaped abundant produce from raised bed gardening. He also loved recycling. He spent much of his free time picking up cans and discarded metals from country roads and alleys, and was always researching better methods and ways to improve the process, and passing along information to those expressing interest. He was a true, free spirit and didn’t much care for trivial matters, nor did he pay much attention to what other people thought. He marched to his own drum and loved us all with every beat of his heart.
