Melanie Faye (Ingersol) Fielding, age 45 of Perkins, passed away on Friday, December 09, 2011 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cushing. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Yale, Ok.

Melanie was born on June 27, 1966 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Charles Fredrick and Mary Florene (Mead) Ingersol. She grew up in Ripley and attended school in Ripley. Her family moved to Cushing when she was a junior, finishing school at Cushing High School, class of 1984. Melanie married the love of her life Gary Fielding on September 14, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma. To this union, five sons were born. They lived in Cushing for a number of years before moving to Perkins. She worked at various daycares in Cushing and had daycare in her home for several years while her children were small. Melanie was very active in her sons activities at school, especially their wrestling matches and football games. She was also a supporter of Special Olympics. She enjoyed concerts with her boys and just spending time with them. Melanie was an avid sports fan, cheering on O.S.U. Cowboys and OKC Thunder. She worked for Cox Cable in both Cushing and Stillwater for a number of years. Melanie had worked for Cimarron Health Care in Cushing as an account representative for the past five years. All of the neighborhood children liked to come to Melanie’s home where they felt comfortable and welcome. Her family was very important to her, even her extended family.
Melanie is survived by her husband Gary Fielding of the home, sons Thomas Charles “T.C.” Fielding and financee’ Lindsay Spears of Stillwater, Ryan Fielding of Stillwater, Aaron Fielding of the home, Scottie Fielding of the home, and Braden Fielding of the home, mother Florene Elston and husband Jerry R. of Perkins, mother in law Patricia “Patti” Fielding of Cushing, sister Claudette Hixon and husband Ronnie of Cushing, brother in law Ronnie Fielding of Cushing and Jim Dale of Ripley, nieces and nephews Brandi Brunt, Chandi Terrel, Vicki Wood and Charlie, Valari Hayes and Keith, and Justin Dale, great nieces and nephews Jade Pitts and Camren, Porscha Brunt, Skyler Brunt, Paysli and Daxton Brunt, Gavin and Peyton Wood, Lillian and Junia Hayes, Ellie and Will Terrel, and great great niece Gracelyn Mattheyer, and best friend Robin Mercer and numerous other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles Ingersol, father in law Tom Fielding, sisters Brenda Dale and Charlene Alsip, brother-in-law Dean Alsip, grandmother Minnie Anderson, grandparents Carl and Evelyn Wright.
