(Stillwater, Okla) – Two candidates who filed declarations of candidacy with the Payne County Election Board for school board seats up for election in February have withdrawn from the race, eliminating elections in both cases.
Cushing Resident Amy Tull Shepperd withdrew from the race after learning the seat up for election was not the ward she lived in. Former board member Willard Patterson was the only other candidate to file for the seat, so no election will take place for the seat.
In Yale, Travis W. Watkins withdrew for election, leaving Becki Foster the only candidate, so no election will take place for the Yale Board of Education.
