(Stillwater, Okla.) — A Drumright teenager, who pleaded guilty Friday to a Pawnee County burglary, was arraigned Monday on a Payne County charge of breaking into his grandmother’s house in rural Drumright on June 18 — while she was sleeping.

Roland Casey-Andrew Roberts, 18, who is also charged with snatching a Drumright woman’s wallet in Cushing on June 12, remains in the Payne County Jail in lieu of posting $6,000 total bail.

Payne County Sheriff’s Deputies Daniel Nack and Gregg Russell, with the assistance of Drumright police and Creek County deputies, served an outstanding Pawnee County burglary arrest warrant for Roberts on June 21, Nack wrote in an affidavit.

“We located Roland at the Maverick (convenience store) on the east side of Drumright, on the northeast corner of Highway 16 and 33. Roland was arrested and taken to the Drumright Police Department,” Nack wrote in his affidavit.

“After arriving there, I advised Roland that I would like to speak to him regarding the burglary of his grandparents’ house,” in rural Drumright in Payne County,  Nack wrote in his affidavit.

“Roland stated that he entered his grandparents’ house through the back door. He stated that he took three guns, one of which was recovered later on this date,” the affidavit alleged.

According to court records, Roland pleaded guilty Friday to the second-degree burglary charge in Pawnee County for which he was arrested by Payne County sheriff’s deputies June 21.

Roland was placed on five years’ probation Friday for that break-in and ordered by Pawnee County District Judge Jefferson Sellers to pay $700 restitution, along with $800 in fines and assessments, court records show.

In Payne County, where Roland has been jailed since Friday, the teen could be given as much as a 20-year prison term for first-degree burglary of his grandparents’ home in rural Drumright on June 18, plus six months’ in jail for snatching a Drumright woman’s wallet in Cushing on June 12 — if convicted of both charges.
