Richard “Dick” Hoffman, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011, at his residence at the age of 67 years.

    The son of the late Richard Hoffman and Celestia Ulrich Hoffman, Dick was born on September 14, 1943 in Ortonville, MN. He was raised and educated in Odessa, MN.

    He was united in marriage to Carol Lyons and to this union four children, Christine, Michael, David and Jolene were born.  He was married to Susan Klein on June 20, 1987.

    Dick worked as a fuel inspector for the United States Government for over 31 years.  He enjoyed fishing, wood working, gardening and spending time with his family and friends, especially time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Lutheran Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Cushing Elks Lodge and a recipient of the “Elk of the Year” award.

    Survivors include his wife Susan of the home, and his children, Christine Guidry of Bunkie, LA, Michael Hoffman of Fort Worth, TX, David Hoffman of Groves, TX, Jolene Johnson of Vilonia, AR, Craig Lesmeister of Morris, MN, Michael Lesmeister of Omaha, NE, Mark Hedrick of Mulvane, KS and Matthew Hedrick of Waco, TX; one brother, Jack Hoffman of Glenwood, MN; two sisters, Mary Ann Hildebrandt of Bryson City, NC, and JoAnn Bullard of Largo, FL; 18 grandchildren; one great-grand-daughter; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    Rosary services will be held Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. with funeral services to be held on Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

    Burial will be in the St. Leo Cemetery.
