Dear Editor,

I love Cushing. People here are so nice.

This morning I had a really pleasant surprise at Bill’s E-Z-Out on Main Street.

I had been to church and bought groceries — so before I headed home, I stopped by Bill’s E-Z-Out to buy a Sunday NewsPress for the TV schedule.

But they were all sold out.

I was getting ready to leave the store when a woman asked me if I just wanted the paper for the news. I told her actually I was hoping to have the TV schedule in it.

She said “You can have my paper.” I was so surprised. I’d never seen her before.

We went outside to her car — and she gave me her Sunday paper with the TV schedule in it. She said she had just bought the paper for the coupons.

I was so struck by her kindness that I said if I had any coupons (I didn’t) that I’d give them to her.

I told her that I buy a lot of store brands and since my husband and I are vegetarians, there are a lot of coupons I don’t cut out and save.

She said if I ever had any that I didn’t need, I could drop them off for her at Bill’s E-Z-Out on Main Street where she works 5 or 6 days a week.

She seemed very organized. She had a sizeable notebook in her car with coupons. I was so impressed.

I just want people to know that there is a really nice person at Bill’s E-Z-Out on Main Street — named April.

I think April should be honored by the Cushing Chamber of Commerce for being a great employee and a good example of the attitude of people in Cushing.

And I hope that the next time I see her, I have some good coupons for her!

Thank you, April. You made my day!
