(Cushing, Okla.) The Red Cross asks, “Do you have Country in your blood?” Anyone coming to donate blood in May or June will be automatically entered to win a trip to the heartland of country music – Nashville, Tennessee!
A Cushing Community Blood Drive will be held this Friday, June 3rd, at the First Christian Church, 300 E. Moses in Cushing, 12:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Blood is always needed, but in the wake of the recent tornadoes, citizens are urged to GIVE BLOOD.
Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in general good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and anyone age 18 or younger must meet additional height and weight requirements. There is no upper age limit. It must have been at least 56 days since the date of your last whole blood donations or 112 days from the date of your last double red cell donation. You may not give blood if you have received Red Cross notification asking you not to do so.
