(Skiatook, Okla) – Vinita opened the contest with A 10-0 run, and has led throughout the game. The Lady Hornets led at halftime 36-25.  Cushing managed only a dozen points in the 2nd half and Vinita went on to win 65-37.

    Cushing will play Jay at 6:30 Saturday night in Skiatook in a winner take all game for the last remaining spot in the state tournament next week.

(Cushing, Okla) – A trip to the “Big House” is on the line tonight for the Cushing Lady Tiger Basketball team,  and tonight’s game is likely to be the toughest outing thus far in the playoffs.

    Cushing takes on Vinita, a squad with a single loss the entire season, at the hands of Booker T. Washington.

    The winner of tonight’s game moves on the the State Tournament, while the loser will have to play again Saturday Night with the season on the line.

    Cushing and Vinita have not played this season,  and have two common opponents,  Jay and Berryhill.   Cushing and Vinita defeated both teams.  The Vinita-Jay game was close in the season opener for Vinita,  a two point win at home.

    Cushing defeated Jay 49-41 last week to advance to tonight’s game.

    Cushing and Berryhill met three times this season,  and the Lady Tigers won all three mettings by scores ranging from 8 to 18 points.

    Vinita played Berryhill on January 21st at home and won by 20. Since a tournament loss to Booker T. Washington on December 9th, Vinita has won 18 straight games.
