(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 73-year-old Shawnee man has been charged with sexually abusing a female child, to whom he is related, when he lived in Yale.
Bobby Joe Clark was arraigned last week and freed on $15,000 bail on a two-count felony charge of lewd acts to a child in Payne County.
Clark was ordered to return to Payne County District Court on April 4 when he can ask for a preliminary hearing.
In the case investigated by the state crime bureau, Clark is accused of putting the then-8-year-old girl on his lap in 2004 and fondling her breasts and genital area.
Clark is also accused of allowing the then-11-year-old girl into his bed about 2007-2008, paying her $5 to allow him to fondle her, and also putting her hands on his genital area.
The now-15-year-old girl alleged that on several occasions since she was 7 or 8, Clark had fondled her on the outside of her clothes at his house in Yale, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Agent Richard Brown wrote in an affidavit.
When Clark was interviewed by the OSBI agent on Nov. 24, 2010, he allegedly admitted that on three occasions he sexually touched the girl, the affidavit said.
The touching began when she was under 10 years old and again when she was 11 or 12, the affidavit alleged. It occurred on the outside of her clothes and under her panties, the affidavit alleged.
If convicted of two counts of lewd acts to a child, Clark could be given as much as a 40-year prison term, court records show.
