(Stillwater, Okla.) — A 23-year-old Cushing man who is currently on probation for methamphetamine possession has been charged with sending nude photos of himself to a 14-year-old girl’s cell phone to solicit a sexual encounter.

Thomas Lee Mays, who is due to appear in court in March for his alleged violation of probation in his methamphetamine possession case, could receive a 10-year prison term if convicted of his indecent exhibition charge filed last week.

Payne County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Hopper wrote in an affidavit that he was sent to the girl’s residence on Feb. 8 on a report of a female juvenile receiving text messages.

The girl’s mother said that her 14-year-old daughter was receiving inappropriate text messages from two males — one of whom was subsequently identified by the girl as Mays, the affidavit alleged.

The mother “showed me her daughter’s phone and several picture messages from Mays,” in which he was nude, the deputy alleged in his affidavit.

“Mays was identified by the 14-year-old female victim and also identified by a book-in picture of him from the Payne County Sheriff’s Office,” the affidavit alleged.

The pictures from Mays were sent on Feb. 8 at 3:34 p.m., on Feb. 7 at 1:50 p.m., on Feb. 7 at 1:27 p.m., on Feb. 7 at 12:41 p.m., and on Feb. 7 at 12:40 p.m., the affidavit alleged.

Last year Mays was placed on three years’ probation, except 30 days in jail, for possessing methamphetamine on Dec. 18, 2008, in Cushing, court records show.

Mays has been ordered to appear in court on March 11 before District Judge Phillip Corley for allegedly violating the rules of probation in that drug case, court records show.
